Machine overview

The basic principle of EDM wire cutting is to use the tool electrode to pulse discharge on the workpiece to achieve the processing, EDM wire cutting processing does not need to make the molding electrode, the use of fine metal wire (usually called molybdenum wire) as the tool electrode. The positive pole of the pulse power supply is connected to the workpiece, and the negative pole is connected to the molybdenum wire; the molybdenum wire moves back and forth at a certain speed, and it continuously enters and exits the discharge area; at the same time, a liquid medium is sprayed between the molybdenum wire and the workpiece. As long as the operator effectively controls the speed and trajectory of the molybdenum wire's movement toward the workpiece, the required shape and size of the workpiece can be cut. The trajectory of the workpiece movement is formed by the X and Y movements of the coordinate table (two controlled stepping motors in the longitudinal and transverse directions).
    The main machine of the DK series CNC wire-cutting machine tool is composed of a bed, working table, wire transporting device, wireframe, coolant tank, machine electrical appliances, accessories, and other components. It is based on the bed, and the table, wire carrier, and wire frame are installed on the same base surface of the bed.
    The following are introduced separately:
1)Bed
    The bed is a box-type resin sand cast iron, which is a whole casting structure, the upper part of which is mounted on the worktable, wire storage cylinder, wireframe, lighting, and other components.
2)Working table
    The working table is mainly composed of a working table, middle drag plate, ball screw, and variable speed gearbox, etc. The longitudinal and transverse movement of the drag plate adopts the ball guide structure, respectively, by the stepping motor through two pairs of backlash gear drive screws to achieve the movement of the working table. The ball screw has the advantages of high transmission precision, high efficiency, and long life.
    (3) Silk transport device
    The wire storage cylinder is composed of a thin-walled hollow cylinder. Motor through the connector to drive the storage cylinder rotation, while the storage cylinder reciprocating movement from the gear speed after the screw to drive the wire transport device drag plate.
    The frequent direction change of the wire storage cylinder drag plate is controlled by a set of inductive switches, which is simple and sensitive in operation, and the left and right bumpers are equipped with an overload insurance device, which cuts off the current of the wire transport motor when the inductive switch fails to change direction.
    4)Wireframe
    Molybdenum wire is like a closed drive belt, driven by the reel to work back and forth, rows of wheels and a pair of leading wheels by the molybdenum wire wrapped around the cycle of operation.
         The guide wheel adopts a sealed section of molybdenum wire vertically.
    5)Coolant tank
    The water pump sends the working fluid to the processing area, the slag accumulates in the dirty box, which must be cleaned regularly, and the working coolant uses DX-1 saponified liquid.
   6)Accessories
① Fixture: groups of fixtures to fix the flat form or cylindrical workpiece, the Department of pressure plate screw structure, with T-type screws to fix the fixture on the worktable.
② Crank: used to wind the silk is rotating the silk storage cylinder.
